The first step before you start writing your own connector is visiting Connectors and making sure there isn't a connector that already does what you need.
If none of them does the trick for you then you are on the right place to start coding it.
As everything in the Aspire ecosystem, you'll need to develop the connector in Java, using Maven as the dependency and deploy manager.
