Version of Box Required
The Aspire Box connector was created and tested using an Enterprise account.
Before installing the Box connector, make sure that:
- Box is up and running
- Have a Box account available
User Account Requirements In order to access Box an user account with sufficient privileges must be supplied. It is recommended the account be the site administrator.

Get Client Secret - You have the Box API Key (
Get API Key - After getting the id and secret, you need to generate the access token and refresh token. These values are necessary because Box uses the standard OAuth 2.0 for authentication and authorization of users.
(please view Box Access and Refresh Tokens- If you are interested in crawling shared and private content for all users of Box, you will need to open a ticket to Box support providing the client id and client secret (from the Box Application), requesting As-User functionality, this will be necessary to crawl private content for all users by impersonating each user.
You will need all those credentials, client Id, client secret, API key later, as part of installing the Box Connector.
