Required Components and Versions

The StageR BDC Plugin was created and has been tested using the following versions:

  • StageR: 1.0.0 to 1.1.0 and 1.3.0
  • MongoDB: 3.4.10 (for StageR 1.1.0 and below), 3.6.X for StageR 1.3.0
  • SharePoint 2013: 15.0.4420.1017
  • SharePoint 2016: 16.0.4327.1000
  • SharePoint 2019: 16.0.10337.12109

Before You Begin

Before installing the StageR BDC Plugin, make sure that:

  • StageR is up and running. For StageR setup, go to the StageR (NodeJS) Staging Repository.
  • SharePoint Management Shell is installed, up and running. The most recent version for the specific version of SharePoint should work.
  • The following SharePoint services must be up and running:
    • SharePoint Administration
    • SharePoint Timer Service

User Account Requirements

Execution of the PowerShell installation scripts requires a user with the following rights:

  • Machine administrator
  • SharePoint farm administrator
  • Service Application administrator


Note
 Once the STageR BDC Connector is installed in SharePoint, the user that actually runs the crawler will need to have permissions over the external content types, external systems, BDC Models and metadata store in SharePoint.  For more information go here.
