This section describes the Configuration for Credentials used by the SharePoint Online Connection.

Step 1. Open the Aspire Admin UI


Browse to the Aspire Admin UI. It is typically located at http://localhost:50505.

Step 2. Select the Credentials option from the Left-hand Menu

The "Credentials" option, identified by a "key" image, is located on the left side of the application, between the "Workflows" and "Connections" options. Click on it to navigate to the "Credentials" page.

Step 3. Specify Credential Description and Type

Once on the "Credentials" page, click on the "+New" option to create a new Credential or select an existing one to modify it.

  • Description: specify a description for the Credential. It is advised for it to be concise and meaningful.
  • Type: select "Sharepoint-online" as the type for the Credential.

Step 4. Specify Credential General Information

Once the type has been selected, you will be presented with the "General" section of the "Credentials" page. Here, you need to enter the following information for the Credential:

  • Select Authentication Method:
    • HTTP Basic
      • Username: Specify Username with permission to access the gateway
      • Password: Specify Password
    • Basic
      • Username: Specify Username with permission to access SharePoint Content
      • Password: Specify Password
    • Azure
      • Tenant Domain: Specify Tenant Domain
      • Client ID: Specify Client ID
      • SSL Certificate:  Specify SSL Certificate Path
      • Certificate Private key: Specify Certificate Private Key Path
    • Azure Delegated Permissions
      • Refresh Token: Specify Refresh Token
      • Tenant ID or domain: Specify Tenant ID or Tenant Domain
      • Client ID: Specify Client ID
      • Client Secret: Specify Client Secret
      • Redirect URI: Specify Redirect URI for generating Refresh Token 
      • Resource: Specify SharePoint resource URL

Step 5. Specify a Throttling Policy (Optional)

On the "Policies" section of the "Credentials", you have the option to specify a previously defined throttling policy for the connections using this credential: just select the desired policy from the list of available policies.

Step 6. Save the Credential

Click on the "Complete" button to save the new Credential (when updating, the button option will read "Save" instead of "Complete").
