Group Expansion Service Prerequisites

The Group Expansion Service potentially requires knowledge of or connection to other services and connectors in the Aspire installation:

• If you want expansion to include LDAP groups, or you wish to use the LDAP proxy functionality (especially when using Group Expansion with the GSA) you will need to install the LDAP Cache Service.
  • The LDAP Cache service requires a Group Expansion Manager service to be running, so a basic Group Expansion Manager should be configured first.

• If you want group expansion requests to expand and combine groups from multiple connectors, you should install the relevant connectors first.
  • Configuring group expansion for any connector also requires a Group Expansion Manager service to be running first.
