Using Group Expansion with a Load Balancer

You can set up multiple Aspire instances with the same configuration behind a Load Balancer to get scalability and redundancy for this service. Then you just need to use the load balancer DNS alias to access the service.

This is useful in cases like the SharePoint 2013 Security Trimmer, where the search results rely on first requesting the Aspire Group Expander for ACL information before adding the query results, which means the Group Expander should always be available for requests.
